Alpaca Lodge was establised in 2022 in Co. Wexford. However, we have been farming this land for seven generations. Today our farm is still a traditional working beef and sheep farm.
Alpaca Lodge is a unique alpaca trekking experience set in Co. Wexford countryside. Take a stroll and enjoy the outdoors and countryside surroundings alongside one of our lovable alpacas.

Alpaca Trekking Experience
At Alpaca Lodge we are home to six lovable alpacas. Enjoy the unique experience by taking one of the four lovable alpacas for a stroll through the beautiful Wexford countryside. The trek is one kilometer in distance, 2km round trip. On the trek, you will walk on the trail through our family working farm where they can embrace the country scenery of Wexford with the alpacas. The trail is located beside our forest and the River Ballyedmond where the customers will also be viewing our sheep from a distance.
At the beginning of the tour, we will introduce our customers to their alpaca so they can get familiar with their alpaca. We will provide a brief talk about alpacas. You will lead your alpaca onto the trail using a lead that will be attached to the alpaca's collar, accompanied.
Once we reach the point on the trail where we are beside the river we will stop for a short break customers can take a break and enjoy the nature surrounding them. For the rest of the tour, we will lead the alpacas on the trail back to the starting point.

This experience consists of taking an alpaca for a walk through the scenic countryside of Co. Wexford.
You will get the opportunity to learn about alpacas. You will be walking the alpacas to a pit stop where you will get an opportunity to feed them. The alpacas will take a rest and we will take you on a walk through our nature trail. Here you will get the opportunity to sit beside the river amongst nature and enjoy your solo graze box prepared by Gather&Graze.
Solo graze box includes: Local cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruit, dried fruit, nuts, olives, chocolate, crackers and a chutney pot.
Portions in the solo graze box are based on one person.

Alpaca trek
The alpaca trek will last 1-1.5 hours. Prebooking is essential as there are designated time slots.

About Alpacas
Alpacas are native to South America and are considered an exotic animals in Ireland. There are two breeds of alpacas Huacya and Suri, Alpaca Lodge is home to Huacya alpacas. During the experience, you will learn all about the adorable animals.

- €25 per person (+12 years of age)
-€10 per child under 12 (cannot lead alpaca, but can accompany)

€10 per person

Yes there are many areas where you can sit back, enjoy nature and your picnic
What do I need to bring?
Suitable walking shoes are advised for the walk and appropriate raincoats as the weather is unpredictable. Bring a camera as there are plenty of photo opportunities.
